In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, CrossPoint Children’s Center will be closed on Monday, May 28. Have a safe & happy three day weekend as we honor those in the military who have fought for our country!

CrossPoint Children’s Center is excited to invite you to our upcoming Spring Program, “California Dreaming”, on Thursday, May 24 at 7:00 pm.

This event is a great opportunity for each classroom to showcase their talents as they perform songs and skits for parents, friends, and family.

The children have been working hard to prepare for their performances, and we would love for you to join us in the church sanctuary for an evening to remember!

Please have your child here no later than 6:30 pm so we can check them in & prepare for the performance. Rooms 101-104 & 105 PM will check in at the church Music Center, and rooms 105-110 will check in at the church Student Center. Both rooms are located at the back side of the church building (by the maintenance building).

If your child is currently enrolled at CrossPoint Children’s Center, then you automatically have a spot in our Summer Session (June 18-August 22). You do not need to pay another registration fee, however we do need you to fill out and return the summer activities form that will be put into your child’s file in the coming week. There are fun activities for your child during the summer session, and we need to know which events you would like him/her to participate in.

If you are going to withdraw your child from CPCC, we need a written notice at least two weeks before your child’s anticipated last day (otherwise you will not receive a prorated tuition rate). If you withdraw your child for Summer Session, please note that you are NOT guaranteed a spot for the coming 2012-13 school year (which starts on August 27). CrossPoint Children’s Center has been blessed to have a group of teachers who are truly dedicated to and passionate about their chosen profession. I am amazed by their commitment to the children and families whose lives they touch on a daily basis. It is this personal connection that sets us apart from other schools.

May 7-11 will be Staff/Teacher Appreciation Week at CPCC. Attached are some ways you can participate in showing your appreciation. I hope you will take advantage of this chance to express your gratitude to each employee as they endeavor to make a difference through serving you.

Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week:

-Monday, May 7: “A Bouquet for You” (Flower vases for each teacher will be placed in your child’s classrooms so you can bring flowers from your garden. EVeryone together will make a beautiful bouquet.)

-Tuesday, May 8: “Thank You Message Attack” (This is a day for notes, a special drawing, and/or a card of appreciation from you or your child. Tape them to the classroom door to cover them with love.)

-Wednesday, May 9: “Snack Cart” (A snack cart will be set up in the break room for the staff’s enjoyment as they take their breaks. If you would like to donate a snack, please drop it off at the front desk.)

-Thursday, May 10: “Staff Recognition” (Each staff member will be recognized and presented with a gift during chapel. Provided by the preschool.)

-Friday, May 11: “Thank You Luncheon” (The staff will be served a luncheon provided by both the preschool and parent donations. Parents, please put any donations for the luncheon in the box on the front counter.)

This is to remind you that CrossPoint Children’s Center will be holding its Open House on Thursday evening, April 19, 2012.  

Again this year, because of the size of the preschool, we need to divide the evening into two time periods.  To keep from overcrowding the preschool building, the following schedule will be used:

ROOMS
# 101, 102, 103, 104, 104 and 105 Afternoon    7:00 to 7:45 pm

# 107, 108, 109, 110, 105, Kindergarten     7:30 to 8:15 pm

Open House is a time set aside for your child to show off his/her work and for you to see what they have been doing in the classroom while here at CrossPoint.  This is also a time to help build a preschool child’s self-esteem.  Children are welcome and we are sure your child will want to show you the work he/she has accomplished.

We look forward to seeing you and hope you enjoy the evening.  Take the opportunity to see your child’s current classroom and visit your child’s possible classroom for next year.

PLEASE BE SURE TO PICK UP YOUR CHILD IN TIME FROM PRESCHOOL SO EVERYONE CAN HAVE A GOOD MEAL BEFORE ATTENDING OPEN HOUSE.  THIS WILL ADD TO YOUR CHILD’S ENJOYMENT IN SHOWING OFF HIS/HER CLASSROOM.

On Monday, April 16 and Tuesday, April 17, CrossPoint Children’s Center will be having Li’l Darlin’s photography on campus to take Graduation photos for rooms 105, 107, 108, 109, & 110. Permission slips will be going out in your child’s file in the coming week, so please be sure to fill it out and return it to your child’s teacher before Monday, April 16.

This is a great opportunity to have professional quality pictures of your child as they graduate from preschool to kindergarten! The week after photos have been taken, packages will be available for purchase in the front office.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be set up in the CPCC lobby from April 9 to April 16. The Book Fair is a great way to encourage your children in learning to read, as well as to fundraise for our school through your book purchases. Each classroom will have a blue bin at the front desk with a “Wishlist” of books they’d like for their classrooms.

Purchases can be made at the front desk from 7:30 am until 6:00 pm, as well as during the evening of Open House.

Friday, April 6, 2012 Ontario Christian Schools will be having their annual Grandparents Day celebration here at CrossPoint Church.

This event will not involve any of our preschool children or facilities, but the church facilities will be used.  Ontario Christian is expecting between 1500 and 1600 school children and adults on that Friday.

With this many people attending, parking will be limited.  CrossPoint Children’s Center will be reserving specific spaces for our parents to drop-off and pick-up.  The parking spaces closest to the playground fences will be reserved for CPCC preschool parents.  Traffic cones and directions will be posted in the parking lot to assist in traffic flow and help reduce congestion.

Thank you for your cooperation as we accommodate the needs of Christian Schools wishing to utilize our facility.

The preschool teachers will be offering Parent-Teacher Conferences for those who are interested from April 2 to April 13. These conferences are not mandatory, but they are encouraged because your child’s teachers will go over progress reports and other important information regarding your child’s development in the classroom.

To schedule a conference, ask your child’s teachers about time slots they have available.
